Tappa / Stage 22

Il Percorso Base attraversa la strada e si dirige diritto nel bosco, lungo tavolati che coprono sezioni paludose. All’inizio il sentiero è ondulato, finché non superiamo la fine del crinale delle Crode di Mezzodì, poi saliamo sulla Forcella della Val dei Barànce. Continuiamo lungo il Van dei Gravinài sotto al crinale roccioso della Cima Nord di San Sebastiano.

La Variante 22 prosegue a sud del Passo Duràn e si inerpica sul Van de Càleda nel vasto anfiteatro racchiuso dal crinale di San Sebastiano a nord e dal crinale del Tàmer a sud. Da qui sta all’alpinista scegliere quale cima scalare, magari tutte e due. Si esce dal selvaggio bacino glaciale attraverso la Forcella La Porta e scendendo i ghiaioni attraverso il Vant de le Forzèle, per riprendere il Percorso Base fino alla Baita Angelini.

Di nuovo sul Percorso Base, ci fermiamo per il pranzo al sacco alla Baita Angelini, poi scendiamo il ripido canalone fino a raggiungere la strada forestale che risale la valle da Pralongo superando il laghetto Al Vach.

Continuiamo lungo il sentiero nel bosco verso il piccolo aggregato di antichissime case tradizionali in legno a Colcervèr. Questo è uno dei luoghi più belli dell’Alta Via Amelia e incarna per molti versi lo Spirito delle Dolomiti. La chiesetta venne costruita tra il 1739 e il 1741. Scendiamo la Val Prampèr verso Pralongo, che confluisce nel Maè, lungo la strada che porta a Forno di Zoldo.

The Foundation Route crosses the road and heads straight into the forest along duckboards over boggy sections. The path is undulating at first until we turn round the end of the Crode de Mezzodì ridge. We then climb up to Forcella della Val dei Barànce and continue across Van dei Gravinài below the rocky ridge of Cima Nord di San Sebastiano.

Variant 22 goes south from Passo Duràn and climbs up Van de Càleda into the vast amphitheatre bounded by the San Sebastiano ridge on the north side and the Tàmar ridge around the south. From here you take your pick which you want to climb – possibly both. Exit from the wild corrie through Forcella La Porta and descend the screes through Vant de le Forzèle to join the Foundation Route at Baita Angelini.

Back on the Foundation Route, we stop for lunch at Baita Angelini then descend a beautiful gully, with a gushing waterfall, until we join the forest road that comes up from Pralongo past the tiny lake Al Vach.

We continue along the forestry track towards the small mountain community of very old, traditional wooden homes at Colcervèr. This is one of the most beautiful places on Alta Via Amelia. Colcervèr symbolises the Spirits of the Dolomites in many ways. The tiny church was built between 1739 and 1741. We descend the valley to Pralongo and from there we continue down to Val di Zoldo and along the valley to Forno di Zoldo.
